B.ed 1st-Semester Assignment in English Version Interdisciplinary Field of Study Bed 1st Semester Assignment Introduction: Humans are adv...
Introduction: Humans are advanced animals. He has a strong desire to know the unknown. So, people are always curious about the environment. He needs extensive knowledge to satisfy his curiosity. Human knowledge progresses from gross to subtle. The demand for knowledge increases with age and demand. Learning is by trying to know each subject by dividing the knowledge into multiple sections and dividing the section into multiple subjects.
Meaning of interdisciplinary knowledge : If we look at the structure of the word “interdisciplinary”
we will see that the word “interdisciplinary” consists of two parts ‘inter’ and
‘disciplinary’. The word ‘inter’ means - the middle part the word
‘disciplinary’ means - relating to a particular field. So, the word
"interdisciplinary" means - the middle part of two or more fields of
knowledge.
Definition of interdisciplinary knowledge : Of the definitions provided for interdisciplinary knowledge, two are given here: Educationist William Newell (2007) defines “inter-disciplinary studies” in his “Decision Making in Inter-disciplinary studies” and says: “A two-part process: it draws critically on disciplinary perspectives and it integrates their insights. Into a more comprehensive understanding… of an existing complex phenomenon the creation of a new complex phenomenon.”
The National Academy of Sciences (NAS) and the National Academy of Engineering and the Institute of Medicine (NAEIM) in the United States of America, 2005, defined interdisciplinary knowledge as “A model of research by teams or individuals that integrates information, data, techniques, tools, perspectives, concepts, and/or theories from two or more disciplines or bodies of specialized knowledge to advance fundamental understanding or to solve problems whose solutions are beyond the scope of a single discipline or area of research practice.”
A universally accepted definition of interdisciplinary knowledge by analyzing the various definitions is-"Interdisciplinary learning is an identifiable process or inquiry method that focuses its attention on a complex problem or question and develops and preserves its solidarity to meet its goals."
Here are some common elements from the above definition of interdisciplinary knowledge:
1. There is a definite independent entity center for interdisciplinary knowledge.2. One of the features of interdisciplinary knowledge is the process of identification.
3. The emergence of interdisciplinary knowledge depends entirely on individual subjects.
Conclusion: Finally it can be said that education science is a subject that includes many distinct subjects. That is why pedagogy is considered as an interdisciplinary field. Students can gain knowledge in diverse subjects due to the fact that many subjects are together. Female students are not burdened with monotonous reading. Students get the opportunity to explore new areas of knowledge. The problem with such subjects is that there are so many subjects that there is no scope for in-depth knowledge of any of them.
