The WBCS Prelims syllabus 2024 consists sections on General Studies topics like Indian Polity, Economy, History, and Geography. There is 200 MCQ type questions in the paper. Each topic is assigned 25 marks. The duration of the exam is 2.5 hours. The Prelims is only a screening test, and its marks are not considered for final selection.

প্রিলিতে যোগ্যতা অর্জনকারী প্রার্থীরা WBCS মেইন পরীক্ষায় যাবেন, যার মধ্যে ভাষা, ইংরেজি, সাধারণ অধ্যয়ন, পাটিগণিত, যুক্তি, ভারতের সংবিধান, ভারতীয় অর্থনীতি এবং ঐচ্ছিক বিষয়ের বাধ্যতামূলক কাগজপত্র অন্তর্ভুক্ত রয়েছে। মেইন পরীক্ষায় ছয়টি আবশ্যিক পত্র এবং ঐচ্ছিক বিষয়ের জন্য দুটি পত্র থাকে, প্রতিটিতে 200 নম্বর থাকে। প্রতিটি পেপারের জন্য প্রার্থীদের সময় থাকবে ৩ ঘণ্টা।
